Beautiful places to visit in Washington – Packwood’s Tatoosh Lake

Trail Description:
The hike to Tatoosh Lake is 3.5 miles one way, with a 1000 feet elevation gain. The trail winds through lush old-growth forests and gradually gains elevation as it follows Tatoosh Creek. Once you get above treeline the views are spectacular of an alpine meadow, and the surrounding mountains, including Mount Adams and Mount St. Helens. You will continue to hike up to the top of the ridge. Once at the top of the ridge you will traverse the down the other side to the lake. And enjoy a nice refreshing dip.
